President Trump is expected to present the Middle East peace plan before Israel’s March 2 elections, Israeli and U.S. sources told Barak Ravid of Israel’s Channel 13 news, as reported in Axios.

The presentation of what is called “deal of the century” has been delayed for over a year due to political uncertainty in Israel, which will hold third elections in a span of a single year.

While the political dimensions of a proposed solution, was repeatedly delayed, the economic part of the plan was presented last summer in the “Peace to Prosperity” workshop in Manama, Bahrain. The White House presented the Palestinians financial incentives in case a peace plan was concluded.

Trump will make his decision soon as he plans to holds talks with his senior adviser Jared Kushner Middle East and Europen leaders at the Davos World Economic Forum, set to begin today.

According to Axios, one of the main factors, whether to make the peace plan public, is Trump’s upcoming impeachment proceedings in the Senate. Besides, Kushner is expected to arrive in Jerusalem from Davos to participate in the Fifth World Holocaust Forum, on Wednesday. He is expected to meet PM Netanyahu and his political opponent Benny Gantz, the Blue and White party leader, for a discussion of the peace plan.

Netanyahu’s interest is the White House to present the plan in order to shift the focus away from his corruption cases.  Benny Gantz wishes Trump, claiming that releasing the plan ahead of the elections would consider electoral interference.
