Israel’s Hadassah Medical Center, Hadassah Hospital, is in talks to open a new hospital in the UAE. The Jerusalem based hospital plans to bring 1,000 doctors and nurses to a new facility in Dubai, Israel’s KAN Channel 11 News reports.
The plan would not only see Israeli medical personnel working in the United Arab Emirates, but they would also bring with them Israeli medical equipment and technology.
There seems to be no end to the benefits and cooperation between Israel and the United Arab Emirates resulting from the recent peace agreement between the two nations.
Hadassah Medical Organization director general Professor Zeev Rotstein initiated the proposed project during a recent visit to Dubai.
Rotstein said, “this is a proposal that is a revolution – to establish Hadassah Hospital as a medical power in the United Arab Emirates.”
In an interview with Esti Perez on the program “At Half Day” Rotstein confirmed the story. “I returned from the Emirates this week, I had very interesting meetings. My success is Hadassah’s success in Jerusalem, but the government or the Ministry of Finance may think Hadassah is unnecessary in the country.
“I received practical suggestions in Dubai. It is possible that this center, which contains the best doctors I know, will find itself elsewhere.”
“I’m thrilled that the name of Hadassah has reached the UAE and that they want to bring Hadassah to them,” added Rotstein. “I could never of even have dreamed of such a thing and I pinch myself to check that it is real. They want to take Hadassah, build new homes, a series of buildings and new equipment for our staff in Dubai.”
Professor Zeev Rotstein is also an experienced pilot and had a surprise in store for his hospital’s Corona ward staffers on Friday morning. He personally piloted one of six planes which engaged in a flyover above the Ein Kerem branch of Hadassah hospital as a thank you to its coronavirus medical staff.
