Israeli AI startup L1ght Raises $15 million seed funding to protect our children online

L1ght combat the online bullying of kids, toxic content and threats by analyzing texts, images, videos, and messaging apps on the net, social networks, and gaming platforms

Israeli startup L1ght has raised a $15 million seed round, the company announced Tuesday. The round from Mangrove Capital Partners and Tribeca Venture Partners, with participation from Western Technology Investment.

Founded in 2018 by Zohar Levkovitz and Ron Porat, both co-founded Amobee Inc., a marketing technology company that acquired in 2012 by Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) for over $300 million.

In 2017 Ron Porat co-founded Shieldren, for the same pain: “providing protection for children by using advanced machine learning technology for the detection, prevention & prediction of online threats” – the company closed in 2018.

L1ght incorporated as AntiToxin Technologies, combat the online bullying of kids, and toxic content by analyzing texts, images, videos, messaging apps, on social networks, gaming platforms to recognize hate speech, and online threats.

L1ght co-founder and CEO Zohar Levkovitz told VentureBeat. “We strongly believe that the burden of responsibility to keep children safe online is on the developer, not the user. It’s the social networks themselves that must create and integrate protection all the way from the design stage. We provide the tool for networks to do this.”
