Lady Gaga Has Her Own Brand of Oreo Cookies Called Chromatica Oreos

Oreo has now tried to explain why it made them.

Lady Gaga now has her own flavor of Oreo cookie. No that is not a joke. Lady Gaga Chromatica Oreos is a real thing. And the reviews are in. Let’s just say that Lady Gaga is leaving some people gagging.

They are named for Lady Gaga’s sixth studio album called Chromatica which was released last year.

Would you eat green and pink Oreos? The filling is green instead of white and the cookie is pink instead of black. But apparently the taste is no different. The package is neon pink. So the whole think is as flashy – and gaudy – as Lady Gaga herself.

“Over the last few years, music has become a key element of our purpose to spread more joy and playfulness in the world through partnerships and entertainment properties alike,” said Justin Parnell, Senior Director of Oreo, in a press release. “We’re absolutely thrilled over our newest collaboration with one of the biggest pop culture icons of a generation.”

For some reason the company thought that people the world over were waiting with bated breath for a cookie-music collaboration.

Lady Gaga said if the new cookies, “This collab is inspired by the world of Chromatica, where kindness rules all things. I love these pink cookies with green crème, and hope they brighten your day as much as they do mine!”

But who needs them? Why did Oreo decide to make these things in the first place? Well apparently it had something to do with the Coronavirus shutdowns. At least that’s what Oreo senior director Justin Parnell told Variety.

“After the lockdown, the world was in dire need of playfulness and a release from all of the stress and anxiety,” Parnell said. “It was like, ‘What if we really leaned into music as a way to connect to people and spread more positivity?’”

Really?

Believe it or not, this is a limited edition cookie. So you have only got a few months to try it before they are all gone from the shelves. And are there really any cookie collectors out there? Do these things increase in value over time? Are there people with lots of boxes of different brands of cookies saved up in their basements expecting that they will go up in value some day?

And who in the world associates Lady Gaga with cookies?
