Rudin’s 3 Times Square To Get Major Facelift

And the building is only 20 years old.

3 Times Square —  Rudin Management

Three Times Square in Manhattan is about to get a new face. The building owned by Rudin Management is going to have an entirely new façade and entranceway. Usually people wait until they are middle aged to get a facelift, but this building is only 20 years old.

The building opened in 202 and was the home of Reuters Group PLC. The new renovations are expected to cost $25 million. They are designed by FXCollaborative. The changes are being made, in part, to lure new tenants. The building will soon lose a number of tenants including Bank of Montreal and FTI Consulting.

The 30 story building is located on 7th avenue between 42nd and 43rd Streets. It stands above the iconic Times Square and offers skyline and Hudson River views with a 28,000 to 35,000 square foot center-core, column-free floor plates, has received WiredScore Platinum certification in recognition of its best-in-class connectivity, and features Nantum OS, the world’s most advanced building operating system.

From the website:
The newly expanded lobby of 3 Times Square is an elegant transition space between New York City’s vibrant streetscape and the thoroughly re-envisioned office and amenity spaces that rise throughout this 30-story tower. The lobby’s triple-height glass wall frames the animation of Times Square, allowing it to remain a part of the visual experience while at the same time offering a respite for visitors and tenants alike.

The planned upgrades for 3 Times Square include:

Sculptural façade screen designed to diffuse the lights of Times Square
Glass-walled triple-height lobby
Streamlined touchless entry security and fully renovated destination dispatch elevators
Top of building and marquee exterior signage available
Planned dedicated amenity floor includes:
Café & lounge with freshly prepared menu offerings packaged to take away
Conference & event center with capacity up to 200 participants
State-of-the-art fitness center with shower and changing rooms
Library with open, flexible space for collaborative meetings and breakout sessions
