Schitt’s Creek Mansion for Sale for $15 million
Did you love Schitt’s Creek? Do you want to not only own a part of the show, but even get to live in one? Well then you are in luck as long as you have at least $15 million in spare cash lying around. That is how much the Toronto mansion known as La Belle Maison which was used as the Rose family estate is now listed at.
The mansion was featured in the first episode of the multi-Emmy Award winning show. It was the home of the wealthy Roses played by Eugene Levy, Dan Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy. When the elitist, and clueless, Roses were left bankrupt by their business manager they were forced to sell the home to cover their debts and move to a cheap motel in the show’s namesake town. That motel is also on the market.
The 10 unit Hockley Motel in Mono, Ontario can be yours for just $1.6 million.
The show won nine Emmys, all for its last season on the air. These included acting, writing and directing awards for the show’s father and son team Eugene and Dan Levy. Schitt’s Creek was even named last year’s best comedy.
According to Architectural Digest La Belle Maison has 24,000 square feet over three floors. There are 12 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms. It also offers an eight-seat home theater, a massive gourmet kitchen, a wine cellar, a billiard room, a sauna, and both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool.
The magazine said that the “most jaw-dropping feature of the home” is its foyer, which boasts an arched ceiling covered in Sistine Chapel inspired frescoes, as well as a grand marble staircase leading up to second-floor walkways. The staircase is filled with ornately framed artworks and lined with gleaming marble balustrades overlooking the entryway below.
The mansion was custom built in 2012 and is located in Toronto’s tony St. Andrew-Windfields neighborhood. The current price is a bargain seeing as how it was previously listed for about $17 million in late 2018.
