Beware of New Android Malware: ERMAC 2.0
ERMAC is back! So Android system users beware of ERMAC 2.0. According to Cyble Research Labs this is a new updated version of the Android Banking Trojan that was first discovered in late August 2021.
EARMAC 2.0 endangers more than 400 different banking and financial apps, so Android users be afraid, be very afraid. As with all such malware, the hackers can use it to steal your personal information, including credit card information and banking account number. This can also be used for identity theft.

ERMAC 2.0 spreads through fake browser update sites. So, as usual, people need to be cautious before they respond to any e mail , pop up or message of any kind telling them about an update. If this should happen you should always go back to the website of the company in question and see if they really are offering anything.
Hackers can also use ERMAC 2.0 to get a victim’s entire contact list and send out messages in their name, spy on the victim whenever he uses his phone and even film the victim with it, and also know his location at all times. The hacker can also listen in and record all telephone conversations.
It has already been found in use in Poland, but it won’t take long for ERMAC 2.0 to spread all over the world. Cyble Research Labs observed that an upgraded version – ERMAC 2.0 – has been available on underground forums for rent at $5,000 a month and targets 467 applications for the stealing of personal credentials.
“We have observed that the ERMAC 2.0 is being delivered through fake sites,” Cyble Labs said in a blog post.
So be careful out there when you use any aps on your mobile devices. Be sure to have the latest types of security protections and never open something that you do not recognize.
