Israel vaccinates children at-risk against covid-19

With no official vaccine manufacturer Pfizer approval Israeli Health Ministry has allowed several dozen children under age 16 to get the vaccine against COVID-19

The Israeli Health Ministry is preparing to vaccinate children under 16 in two months with Pfizer’s vaccine after completing clinical trials in children, and the FDA approves.

Meanwhile, with no official vaccine manufacturer Pfizer approval Israeli Health Ministry has allowed several dozen children under age 16 to get the vaccine against COVID-19.

The pharmaceutical giant, whose vaccines are the majority used by Israel, announced this week it had finished the recruiting process for trials, with 2,259 volunteers under 16.

Ynet reported these 100 at-risk children felt well after the jab and have shown no side effects.

All those children were at risk of becoming seriously ill with the coronavirus due to preexisting conditions or could infect at-risk family members.

Among them were children whose parents have a severe immune deficiency as cancer, diabetes, respiratory conditions, or overweight.
Their physician made the requests for exceptional vaccinations. They required approval also by the head of the Health Ministry’s coronavirus vaccination committee, Dr. Boaz Lev.
