XRHealth hopes this latest advancement in non-drug treatment can offer support and relief for the millions of individuals coping with ADHD every day.

Israel’s XRHealth, formerly known as VRHealth, uses virtual reality in therapy for a variety of health conditions. It will now open a Virtual Reality Telehealth Clinic in Israel, reports HITConsultant.

So Startup Nation is helping itself.

Virtual reality is not just for playing games anymore. Psychologists have found it useful in the treatment of patients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, among other things.

The Telehealth service is already available in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, Michigan, Washington D.C., Delaware, California, New York, and North Carolina and are covered by Medicare and most major insurance providers.

The clinic, which is expected to open on November 1, will treat patients in Israel for symptoms related to Stress & Anxiety, ADHD, Motor & Cognitive Rehabilitation, post-COVID-19, Parkinson’s, Brain Injury, and more.

XRHealth utilizes the power of virtual reality to rehabilitate patients via an immersive and engaging experience in the comfort of their own home. XRHealth combines therapeutic software with VR technology solutions that can treat a variety of health conditions. VR therapy transports patients to an environment where they can view and experience treatment as a fun activity, increasing patient participation in prescribed therapeutic treatments.

Founded in 2016 and privately held, XRHealth is the first VR/AR Telehealth platform in the world. Its platform offers innovative, immersive, therapeutic applications which address a wide variety of neuro-cognitive, emotional and physical symptoms. These applications are combined with an advanced data portal which utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud-computing algorithms to deliver data analytics for monitoring and managing patients remotely. The platform also enables live, two-way interactions between patients and their healthcare providers.

“In the era of COVID-19, there’s an essential need to provide healthcare services remotely and VR technology enables us to offer a wide variety of telehealth treatments that far exceed a simple video call,” says Eran Orr, CEO of XRHealth. “Now, patients in Israel have access to the highest-quality healthcare treatments, all from the comfort of their homes.”

“XRHealth is modernizing and revolutionizing the way healthcare is operating today,” added Eran Orr. “We are utilizing the most advanced forms of technology like virtual reality to provide patients with optimal care in the comfort of their own homes while providing top-notch clinicians with ongoing status of their progress. Patients can now ‘go’ to a virtual clinic without the need to leave their homes at all.”

Just last month XRHealth announced a virtual reality (VR) ADHD therapy application for both children over the age of 8 as well as adults. The application is aimed to improve well known ADHD cognitive functioning, such as attention, impulsivity, and higher, more complex thinking functions, like initiating, organizing, planning, and fully executing daily tasks.

Based on the brain plasticity principle, which is the brain’s ability to restructure itself in attempt to overcome existing challenges, the VR solution closely monitors user progress based on sustained focus while distractions are present.

XRHealth hopes this latest advancement in non-drug treatment can offer support and relief for the millions of individuals coping with ADHD every day.
