The central committee of Bayit Yehudi voted on Monday to approve a merger with the Otzma Yehudit party in the upcoming March 2nd national elections.

The discussions and the vote apparently didn’t go smoothly, however. At some point in the evening, the process became quite dynamic:

In addition, the central committee also voted to approve efforts to create a merger with the National Union party headed by Bezalel Smotrich, although it is not yet clear whether Smotrich will agree to the deal.

In addition, the committee voted to continue with the list of candidates that was established for the previous elections that were held in September 2019, headed by Rafi Peretz, followed by MK Moti Yogev, and then Idit Silman.
