Chanukah Lights Beam From Chabad Menorah at Dead Sea Mall

Even from the lowest point on earth, Chabad has succeeded in lighting a Chanukah menorah whose light rose higher than anything else in the Dead Sea region this year, kindling the lights from the top of newly-built Dead Sea Mall in Ein Bokek.
Chabad-Lubavitch emissary to the Dead Sea Rabbi Shimon Elharar told JewishPress.com the huge menorah was built on the entire front of the Dead Sea Mall, 25 meters (82 feet) high by nine meters (30 feet) wide, with its “candles” being kindled at the top, and overhead lights beaming across the sky over the waters of the southern end of the Dead Sea.

Dead Sea Regional Council leader Nir Wenger lit the menorah together with Rabbi Elharar, who presented him with a copy of the Tanya printed in Ein Bokek. The Tanya is the magnum opus of the founder of Chabad Chassidut, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, and is indispensable to understanding the philosophy of the Chassidic movement.
