Beastie Boys Adam Horovitz Selling Manhattan Home for $3.1 Million

Adam Horovitz is all grown up.

Adam Horovitz Chelsea Apt (Zillow)

Adam Horvitz is all grown up now. The musician made his mark on history as a member of the 1980s all Jewish rap band “The Beastie Boys.” Their music was nothing if not immature and gross. Their lyrics were explicit to say the least. There was a reason why they were so popular with teenage boys.

Well Horvitz is now 54 years old. And he lives with his girlfriend 52 year old Kathleen Hanna. The couple is now selling their Chelsea Manhattan apartment for $3.15 million. Thy bought it in 2013 for $2.95 million. A $200 or 7% profit in 8 years is nothing for New York City real estate, especially in an upscale location such as Chelsea. Maybe this is because of what the whole Coronavirus has done to the real estate market.

Located at 129 W 22nd St. the apartment holds three bedrooms and three bathrooms over 2,400 square feet of space.

The listing on Zillow describes that light floods into this exceptional high-floor Chelsea renovated loft from six south facing oversized windows. Enter from a semi-private landing into a spectacular Great Room with expansive room for living and dining. The Great Room opens into the eat-in Chef’s Kitchen, which includes a vented Viking range, custom cabinetry, and large entertaining island with bar seating. The double exposure deep Primary Suite includes a separate lounge, a large walk-in custom fit closet, and ensuite bath with steam shower. The Secondary Bedrooms each have their own Full Bath. And there is an additional large Office / Media Room with built-in desk and shelving. The home offers central air, hardwood floors, a laundry closet, and custom closets and built-ins throughout. This boutique coop features key-lock elevators, a virtual doorman, remote controlled package room and superintendent. Spectacular shopping, dining, and subways right outside the door in Manhattan’s most sought after downtown neighborhood.
