Newt Gingrich Pushes Groundless Anti-Semitic George Soros Attacks

Why do people tolerate these George Soros slurs?

George Soros continues to be the object of baseless anti-Semitic slanders. The most recent one was made by Newt Gingrich on Fox News as part of a screed blaming Soros for somehow stealing the election from President Trump.

But why are people blaming George Soros for Trump’s defeat?

The answer is simple: He is an extremely wealthy liberal Jew who supports left-wing causes. But so what?

All things being equal, George Soros should be a role model for Republicans and businessmen alike. He is a completely self-made man who built his fortune by playing the game of capitalism the way it was intended. He engaged in investments and currency speculations, winning big when taking risks like when he bet against the British Pound.

Soros, a Holocaust survivor from Hungary, moved to England after World War II where he gained an education at the London School of Economics. George Soros then worked his way up from an entry level position with a bank.

His is a Horatio Alger type rags to riches story. But he is also a Jew. Could that perhaps be the reason why he is so scorned? Does a rich Jew in America need to be a supporter of conservative causes to avoid such scorn?

Baselessly accusing a Jew of being the money behind some sort of secret cabal which usurps democratic elections is no different than promoting the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Libeling a Holocaust survivor with baseless accusations of having been a Nazi collaborator – Soros was all of 14 years old when the war ended – clearly has anti-Semitic undertones.

And now Newt Gingrich appeared on Fox News to promote that lies that George Soros funded some sort of left-wing conspiracy which brought down President Trump from behind the scenes.

“I think he [Joe Biden] would have to do a lot to convince Republicans that this is anything except a left-wing power grab financed by people like George Soros, deeply laid in at the local level. And, frankly, I think that it is a corrupt, stolen election,” said Gingrich.

“It’s very hard for me to understand how we’re going to work together without some very, very big steps by Biden. And I have doubts if the left-wing of his party would tolerate him genuinely trying to work with Republicans.”

A power grab committed somehow clandestinely by a group funded by a rich Jew. How is this not anti-Semitic?

And of course Mr. Gingrich gave no evidence of any kind to support his slanderous claims. People like this will always call on the other side to prove their accusations false. The victim of the slander must somehow prove a negative.

This is nothing new for Gingrich. In September he said on Fox News, “The No. 1 problem in almost all these cities [where protests were going on] is George Soros-elected, left-wing anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up.”

“Progressive district attorneys are anti-police, pro-criminal and overwhelmingly elected with George Soros’ money, and they’re a major cause of the violence we’re seeing because they keep putting the violent criminals back on the street,” added Gingrich.

Unfortunately no one on Fox News stood up to Gingrich this time like they did in September. Then Gingrich was told that, “George Soros doesn’t need to be a part of this conversation.”

Mr. Gingrich has also tweeted numerous attacks on George Soros like, “It IS his [Soros] name. He IS funding pro-criminal, anti police district attorneys. Why is the left afraid of the facts?”

But the real question we should be asking here is – when will Jews wake up to the fact that the anti-Soros rhetoric is in fact anti-Semitic? And yes it is!
